Location, Location, Location…can backfire

According to the New York Times article, the owner of this early 19th century farmhouse purchased it knowing fully well how close it sits to train tracks. The poor location apparently drove down the price of the house, a boon in an already down housing market. However, upon viewing this dramatic photo, I have to wonder, did the new owner realize just how close that really is?

Just looking at the tracks, weeds between them, no shine on the top, I’m thinking these tracks probably don’t get used that often. When I was a kid, back when trains still burned coal, the house we lived in was no more than 20 feet from busy tracks. It was kinda fun to watch the train go by at night , with those folks in the dining car and think that one day I might get to do that.

The owner of the house is probably very nerveous and depressed as don’t sleep well..at all(((
